summer 2015: 2 week road trip- part 1

i love summer (real LOVE)! Packing and preparing can be exhausting, but the going and finally getting there is the reward. The freedom to go, explore, and just be is invigorating. For months now, I've been planning a summer road trip with my kids and mom. Our final destination target was D.C.. Luckily, we have family along the route. So excited to see each other (and stretch our legs), all of us enjoy the hugs and company of each other. Especially the cousins being silly and playful. It's a highlight on our 2 week journey.

Here, I share a daylong documentary of our time together.

spring break 2015 | the Villages, FL | Fairhope Photographer

Oh goodness- spring break was another adventure trip for us leaving the Dad behind. We drove from Fairhope, AL all the way to the middle of Florida to an area known as The Villages. It was our first time there and we were hosted by eager-to-show-us-around grandparents. The Villages is a massive retirement community spread over many, many acres with an incredible amount of activities always available. Pools, rec centers, golf courses, stores, main squares- it has it all.  One of it's main features are the resident's golf carts that serve as the main mode of transportation. The kids and I had a blast driving and navigating our way around.  We had so much fun squeezing in every second for exploring and figuring out what life is like there. We enjoyed meeting standout and friendly neighbors, visiting arts and crafts fairs, square dancing and even took in the sunrise Easter service. This definitely felt like an adult Disney kind of place. Our time flew by! We definitely look forward to when we can visit again.
