This time of year, we are usually treated with fewer high humidity days and more colorful sunset displays. I knew all day long that I wanted to capture the sunset. I was just "feeling" it. Luckily, I'm not far from Mobile Bay to make a quick trip for a few photos. As I approached the location I wanted, I was in awe of the gorgeous phenomenon happening that evening called a "sun dog sunset". From what I know, it happens when ice crystals are refracted from the low sun on cirrus clouds. I was literally shaking in excitement as I took it all in with the camera. I felt blessed. Topping off the special Fairhope sunset, was a peaceful paddle boarder and his yellow lab gently cruising by across my frame. It could not have been any more of a perfect sunset that evening in my hometown of Fairhope.
Fly Fishing Treat- fairhope photographer
One early morning while I was visiting my awesome family in NC, my brother-in-law arranged for me to tag along on a fly fishing outing. We drove the swerving two lane mountain road with hot coffee in hand to arrive at a sun drenched river destination. It was a small hike into the woods, a little bit of fisherman prep and a photographer's yummy light dream! We spread out and worked in silence as we each had our on tasks and different elements of concentration. It was cool, peaceful and serene as the rush of the water headed downstream. I was treated well. And even though we didn't take home any trophy fish, we were blessed with a beautiful start to the day.
